About Hazelnut Grove Herbals
Years
ago, after plopping down my tiny cabin in the middle of a 24-acre wooded
hollow, I looked around the little clearing and saw American hazelnut bushes
everywhere, throughout the under story of the surrounding woods and following the
bank of a tiny, spring-fed creek. That’s when I named my land Hazelnut Grove,
and changed the name of my business (having sold my original herbal soap
business) to Hazelnut Grove Herbals. I’ve been making soaps and other
natural products such as whipped nut butters, healing balms and
medicinal teas since 2001. These days, I use the name only to encompass the
herbal part of my life. I make just enough product for myself, family and
friends, and I also teach herbal workshops for making soaps, butters and
balms. Several years ago I added botanical perfumery to my herbal
product line. It’s a beautiful fusion of art and herbalism, and it has the
mysterious aura of alchemy. What’s not to love? I’m addicted to blending
essential oils and creating new scents.
